Decompression Traction Therapy

Decompression Traction Therapy (DTT) is a non-traumatic treatment intervention when manipulation is negated due to examination findings. Decompression Traction Therapy is the treatment of choice for disc compression syndromes which current research suggests may contribute to 85% of patient back pain.  This treatment effectively enhances the healing process and has shown to be an effective and amazing pain relief  tool that enables most patients to return to a more active lifestyle.

  • Decompression Traction Therapy is a treatment amenable to virtually any age or morphology.

  • Unique in our area, our practice uses the Kennedy Technique which focuses on creating three major patient categories:  disc compression, movement disorders and a combination of the two. Each has its own specific criteria, functional examination and treatment parameters.

  • Decompression Traction Therapy is a non-surgical treatment that may effectively treat disabling low back, neck, radiating leg & arm pain, and headaches.

  • Decompression Traction Therapy is utilized to effectively relieve pain associated with disc herniation, degenerative discs, and posterior facet syndromes by reducing the pressure on spinal discs and facet joints through unloading created by distraction and positioning.

Dr. Jeff Asks some important questions of interest to Arkansas City residents - Chiropractor Arkansas City Dr. Jeff Asks...

What causes vertebral subluxations?
Chiropractors acknowledge three types of stress: physical, chemical and emotional. When the adaptive capacity of your body is compromised, weakened areas along the spine can become involved. Muscles tighten, spinal joints lock up and nearby nerves are affected. The purpose of chiropractic care is to find these areas and restore balance, alignment and motion.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
